NGO Job Vacancy, Project Coordinator
A local non governmental organization (NGO) in Lagos seeks to recruit a Project Coordinator to lead a government project.
Under the overall direction and supervision of the executive Director, the project Coordinator will be required to:
- Lead the project team in the implementation of a governance project including research, policy advocacy and community education;
- Liaison with donors, partners and other NGOs;
- Provide timely reporting to donors, the Executive Director and Board of directors;
- Manage a programme budget and other finances of the organization;
- Lead fundraising of the project .
- Interface with other external consultants or personnel engaged to implement various aspects of the project;
- Provide technical input to the implementation of a strategic advocacy initiative;
- Liaison with media contacts, civil society groups, government officials;
- Planning and coordinating regional town hall meetings or roundtable events;
- Travel within the country as required;
- Lead the development and implementation of other projects of the organization as directed by the executive Director.
At least 5 years work experience in development, governance of human rights related work, preferably in a non governmental organization. Strong research capacity and experience working on advocacy projects useful.
An advanced (Master’s or Ph.d) degree in political or social science, international relation, law or economics. A first level university degree with a combination of relevant academic qualifications and experience in political or social sciences, international relation, law or economics and relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of advanced university degree.
