NGO Job Vacancy, Project Coordinator

A local non governmental organization (NGO) in Lagos seeks to recruit a Project Coordinator to lead a government project.

Responsibilities
Under the overall direction and supervision of the executive Director, the project Coordinator will be required to:

• Lead the project team in the implementation of a governance project including research, policy advocacy and community education;
• Liaison with donors, partners and other NGOs;
• Provide timely reporting to donors, the Executive Director and Board of directors;
• Manage a programme budget and other finances of the organization;
• Lead fundraising of the project .
• Interface with other external consultants or personnel engaged to implement various aspects of the project;
  
• Provide technical input to the implementation of a strategic advocacy initiative;
  
• Liaison with media contacts, civil society groups, government officials;
  
• Planning and coordinating regional town hall meetings or roundtable events;
  
• Travel within the country as required;
• Lead the development and implementation of other projects of the organization as directed by the executive Director.

Experience
At least 5 years work experience in development, governance of human rights related work, preferably in a non governmental organization. Strong research capacity and experience working on advocacy projects useful.

Qualifications
An advanced (Master’s or Ph.d) degree in political or social science, international relation, law or economics. A first level university degree with a combination of relevant academic qualifications and experience in political or social sciences, international relation, law or economics and relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of advanced university degree.

Experience
At least 5 years work experience in development, governance or human rights related work, preferably in a non governmental organization.

Duration: 1 year
