The Clinton Health Access Initiative, CHAI, has, since 2002, been assisting developing countries in implementing large-scale, integrated HIV care, treatment, and prevention programs. Clinton Health Access Initiative is currently active in Eastern Europe, the Caribbean, Asia, and Africa. CHAI Nigeria is currently seeking a suitably qualified Vaccine Program Analyst to accelerate the introduction and uptake of life-saving pentavalent and pneumococcal vaccines. Nigeria is one of the focus countries where CHAI has worked closely with the Ministry of Health to deliver HIV/AIDS and health systems strengthening programs in recent years. As part of this initiative, CHAI will support the Ministry of Health to effectively plan, execute and evaluate the introduction of the new vaccines.
What will the Analyst do?: He shall
- Support the Ministry of Health in critical areas related to vaccine introduction such as cold chain chain strengthening and monitoring and evaluation
- Develop and test tools that can assist Nigeria in planning and executing introduction of new vaccines
- Contribute to the analysis and design of CHAI's vaccine strategy in Nigeria and globally and support the mobilization and management of financial resources to implement that strategy.
- Plan and execute an ambitious program of activities to support the national vaccine introduction, including upgrading of cold chains and training of health workers
- Ensure the robust design and implementation of evaluation methodologies and the translation of findings into appropriate changes in policy and practice
- Conduct robust analysis of vaccine systems and consulting with key individuals and organizations to identify high-impact activities for CHAI to pursue to support vaccine introduction in Nigeria
- Support Nigeria in identifying gaps in national plans to introduce new vaccines and rapidly pursue appropriate steps to address them
- Carry out other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Country Director
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Minimum of two years of work experience in the private or public sector, with increasing levels of responsibility and leadership
- Ability to multi-task and to be effective in high-pressure situations
- Exceptional problem solving skills and analytical capabilities
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships in a challenging multicultural environment - international experience required
- Ability to operate independently, setting an achieving ambitious targets with limited guidance
- Strong written and oral communication skillls
- Highy proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet applications
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills
