Writing a resume that would make an outstanding impression could sometime pose a problem to students, particularly, graduating students who are eager to get a job. Since at this time the economy is not buoyant as before and there are a great number of students who are seeking employment out there in the job market, the need to make your resume stand out and attention catching become very important. Hence, you need to know what content student resume must have to make it professional.
Your resume, as a student, must be an easy to read document that shows your experience and leadership positions, education, qualifications, special skills, certifications, special training, and other key attributes that are very relevant to the job you want to apply for. Usually, it must not be more than two pages. But as a student, one page is preferred.
The first step in writing a professional student resume is understanding the job description and being able to provide an accurate information that are relevant to it. You cannot use the same resume for different job since their job descriptions may differ. So, for a different job, you must write a resume that provide the details that suit the job description and the employer would like to see. You must bear it in mind to focus your accomplishments while writing your resume as this is what makes it professional and determine whether you will be picked for the job or not.
Next is to write your objective. Your objective must be a brief statement that tell an employer why you are the right candidate that can best fit for the job. This must not be a long prose but very concise saying what your objectives are and what is going to be the eventual outcome of employing you for the job.
Then you can state your experiences as they are related to the job position you are applying for. Whether paid experience or non-paid experience, list them as long as they are relevant. Relevance to the job is the key here. Go ahead and list your academic qualifications and the courses you have done that equally relevant to the job position.
It will add a good touch to your resume if you include any computer knowledge you may have, knowledge of other languages and memberships related to the position you are seeking.
